Stevenson was born as one of two sons to investment advisor Richard Stevenson Parker Sr. and actress Sarah Meade, who worked on Broadway and in numerous television commercials. Parker Stevenson married fellow actress Kirstie Alley in 1983 despite the staggering differences between their personalities and life goals.
